From January 1 to June 30, 2009, the Utilities Commission ran a six-month, HET rebate, pilot program.  Hillsboro Water Department customers who purchased EPA WaterSense-labeled, high-efficiency toilets were eligible to receive up to two $100 rebates.  Qualifying toilets had to be purchased between the dates of 1/1/09-6/30/09, and the old toilets were required to be recycled.  The program ended on June 30, 2009. 

The Department issued 132 rebates, which will conserve approximately one million gallons of water per year.

The Water Department will be evaluating this pilot, along with other rebate options, and will consider implementing another rebate program for additional water-saving appliances, fixtures and/or devices in July 2010.
