231ST/ALDER ISLAND REMOVAL:

About:

This project will remove a traffic island at the intersection of NE Alder St and NW 231st Ave. Currently the island directs traffic on NE Alder to make a right turn on 231st. A traffic study was performed by the city after citizen complaints of vehicles making left turns or going straight across 231st at this intersection. The study determined that left turns and straight ahead movements did not create a hazard at this intersection and the island was not necessary. The Transportation Committee directed the island be removed.
