In addition we have one Detective assigned to the Washington County Interagency Narcotics team, one Detective assigned to the Metro Gang Task Force and one Detective assigned to the Fraud and Identity Theft Enforcement team.
Specific areas of expertise for these detectives include homicide investigation; robbery; child abuse/neglect; sex crimes and forgery. This unit also has representatives who are on the Washington County Major Crimes Team (a multi-jurisdictional team of investigators for major incidents); the Multi-Disciplinary Child Abuse Team; Sexual Assault Resource team; Clandestine Lab Enforcement Team; Domestic Violence Intervention Council; Innocent Images (protecting children on-line).
Three full time Evidence Technicians who are trained in the collection, preservation and presentation of all types of evidence and scientific data assist the Detective Unit in the processing of crime scenes. The unit is most proud of our working relationship with the District Attorney’s office and our ability to take new things we learn and share that knowledge with other members of this department.
