Project Summary

The Tanasbourne Area has a rich mix of urban housing, jobs, businesses, commerce, urban conveniences, and community amenities. Acknowledged in 2009 as one of the most successful Town Centers in the region, the Tanasbourne area was recently designated along with neighboring Amberglen as a Regional Center. Identifying a Vision for the Tanasbourne area is the first step in updating the Tanasbourne Town Center Plan from 2000. Along with the AmberGlen Community Plan, this Plan will articulate and describe the urban shape, form, texture and content of a Master Tanasbourne / AmberGlen Regional Center Plan.

The Tanasbourne Future Vision planning effort began in 2012 with a diverse group of Tanasbourne area residents and employees participating in focus group discussions.  A stakeholder group comprised of Tanasbourne area residents, commercial property owners, Citizen Participation Organization (CPO) 7 representatives, and public agencies was convened in early spring.  An open house was held on June 6, 2012 to receive citizen input on how to achieve an even more vibrant regional center to live, work, and play.
