Currently, no senior and Eagle Scout projects are available. We will resume this opportunity in fall 2011. Check back with us then!
Senior and Eagle Scout Projects |
| Hillsboro Parks & Recreation will work with boy scouts and high school students to complete Eagle Projects and Senior Projects as projects become available. We encourage students and scouts to bring additional project proposals to the Volunteer Services Coordinator. Projects can be nature or classroom based.
Here is a list of potential projects: |
Christmas Tree Recycling
- Coordinate site drop off with participating troops & Washington County Fairgrounds
- Coordinate chipping day with Asplundh Tree Expert, Co.
- Work with Hillsboro Parks & Recreation to make sure the 7th Annual Tree Chipping Event is a sucess!

Curriculum Development
- Develop a lesson plan to be used for elementary level after school programs and/or
- Develop service-learning curriculum for any grade range that incorporates nature and learning

Park Trail Map Development - Limited Availability
- Create a park trails map - project details to be determined. Click here for an example of a trail map developed as an Eagle project by Nathan Tomlinson, Troop 594.
- Write trail descriptions, take photographs, and develop methodology to measure trail distances in selected park(s)

Hillsboro Parks & Recreation can meet with you to discuss additional project ideas such as leading and organizing a special event, develop service learning projects, complete an internship, and many more. We welcome new and innovative project ideas!
