Bicentennial Park originally opened during the nation's bicentennial year, 1976, with the assistance of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. In 1978 a soccer field, picnic shelter and playground were added. Currently, this 4.4-acre park is experiencing a major renovation including a new restroom, new walkways which offer improved accessibility, additional playground equipment and landscaping. Funding for these renovations is provided in part by a federal Community Development Block Grant. The park is expected to re-open in Spring 2010.

General Park Regulations

  • Use of all tobacco products is prohibited on Parks & Recreation property.
  • Parks are closed from dusk to dawn.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
  • All fireworks are prohibited.
  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
  • Dogs are prohibited from playground areas.
  • Dog waste must be cleaned up by dog's keeper/owner.
  • Dogs are prohibited from wetlands, ponds and streams.
  • Golfing activities are prohibited.
  • Motorized vehicles prohibited except in parking areas.
  • Vending activities are prohibited without Park Commission approval.
