Welcome to Hillsboro!

Hillsboro is home to some of the best land, power and water resources in the country. As a result, many high tech and advanced manufacturing companies put down roots in Hillsboro, and we continue to attract new investment from these and other industries around the world.

Hillsboro is particularly attractive for its manufacturing infrastructure, its technologically skilled workforce, its proximity to airports, major highways and interstates, and its business-friendly climate. We also have access to incentives through urban renewal, enterprise zones and strategic investment programs that can mean additional benefits for a business looking to locate or expand.

The role of the Economic Development Department is to advocate for businesses, locating or expanding in Hillsboro and to create a favorable business climate for companies to succeed —whether in our historic downtown or the heart of our Silicon Forest.  We maintain strong relationships with local, regional and state partners and advocate on behalf of our businesses on policy, incentives and regulation.
