The City of Hillsboro owns and operates a municipal water system
that serves nearly 79,900 customers in Washington County, Oregon. The
City's service territory is divided into two main areas - one serving
the City's own municipal territory and another serving more than 600 rural
connections in Washington County, along with wholesale service to the
cities of Gaston and Cornelius and the LA Water Cooperative.
As one of four members of the Joint Water Commission (JWC), the City has partial
ownership in various JWC facilities. These include treatment capacity in the water
treatment plant located south of the City of Forest Grove, and transmission capacity
in the various transmission lines that service not only Hillsboro but the cities
of Forest Grove and Beaverton and the Tualatin Valley Water District, fellow JWC
members. more...
