Criminal Background Checks

OBTAINING A BACKGROUND CHECK:

Citizens may request a background check by filling out the Criminal Background Clearance Request Form. Requests may be made in person or via mail. If requested via mail, the form must be accompanied by a notarized copy of your photo identification. Prepayment in the amount of $5.00 must accompany the request.

Accepted methods of payment are exact cash, money order or cashier's check, business check or Visa/Mastercard. At minimum, requests take 24 hours to process.

Criminal background checks only encompass a search of the City of Hillsboro Police Department records and only advise whether a subject does or does not have a criminal record with HPD. No specific information is included.
