Planning Commission

This body is comprised of seven lay persons appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council to serve a four-year term that may be renewed.  The Commission is the decision making authority for applications which deal with land uses, such as comprehensive plan changes, planned unit developments, subdivisions, concept development plan applications, cultural resource alterations, floodplain alternations and significant natural resource level 2 permit applications.  Decisions of the Commission can be made by minute order or by adoption of a formal Order and findings. Some decisions of the Commission are forwarded to the Council as a recommendation.

Planning Commission meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, however, the Commission only meets when there are items scheduled for hearing.
