PZHB Meeting Schedule
When: 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Place: Hillsboro Civic Center Auditorium
This body is comprised of five lay persons and two hired land use attorneys who serve as hearings officers. A “Board” is comprised of two lay persons and one hearings officer and all individuals are rotated to serve based upon their availability. The PZHB conducts public hearings concerning such applications as conditional use permits, applicant initiated zone changes, and variances. The Board typically makes tentative decisions immediately following the hearing. After the close of the hearing, the hearings officer will prepare an Order finalizing the decision, which is signed by the participating Board members. Some decisions of the Board are in the form of a recommendation to the City Council.
The PZHB only meets when there are items scheduled for public hearing.
