Long Range Planning Division

The Planning Department’s Long Range Planning division carries out strategic, long-term community planning for the City. This is a pro-active program that participates in regional, county-wide and neighborhood planning efforts. The division works closely with local, regional and state agencies to ensure that planning and development within the City is in compliance with regional and state mandates. Maintaining the City’s Comprehensive Plan is an important responsibility for the division. The Comprehensive Plan is the City’s primary tool used to set the stage for future growth and development. The Plan’s goals and objectives are long term and comprehensive in nature, addressing everything from public facility provision to environmental enhancement and neighborhood preservation.
