| A: Property lines can only be located
accurately by finding the property pins at the corners of the property.
Call the Planning Department at (503) 681-6153 (with the street address)
to obtain the approximate dimensions of the property according to the
Washington County Tax Maps, and the width of the street right-of-way in
front of the property. If the street in front of the property has curbs,
begin looking for any property pins inside the curb. In many cases, you
may start at approximately one-half the difference between the width of
the right-of-way and the width of the street. If the street has a planter
strip between the curb and the sidewalk, the property pins may be just
inside the inside edge of the sidewalk. If you are unable to locate the
property pins, you may need to hire a private surveyor. |
