Hillsboro Cross Country Club

The Hillsboro Cross Country Club is open to youth from kindergarten through eighth grade. The focus of the club is to provide an opportunity for youth to run and compete within a group, to understand the importance of physical fitness and stretching, and to learn race and training strategy. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork and having fun. Practices are on Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in September and October. Click here for more information. Cross Country Club 2008

Cross Country Meets

Cross Country Meets are held on Tuesdays in September and October. Meets are open to boys and girls through eight grade. Participants run high school cross country courses and at Rood Bridge Park. Ribbons are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for both boys and girls. All other runners receive a participant ribbon. Click here for more information or call 503-681-6120.

Age groups and race distances are as follows:

K & 1st grade - 1/2 mile
2nd & 3rd grade - 3/4 mile
4th & 5th grade - 1 mile
6th grade - 1.2 miles
7th & 8th grade - 1.8 miles or 3K

After School Sports

Hillsboro Parks & Recreation administers an after school sports program at the elementary and middle schools in the Hillsboro School District.
 

Hillsboro Youth Turkey Trot

Open to boys and girls through the 8th grade. The winner of each race wins a turkey and all other runners receive a ribbon. Each year the race is held on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at 3:30 p.m. at the Elden Kellar track at Hare Field. The race is free. No pre-registration required. Hillsboro Youth Track Club & All-Comer's Meets

Join the Hillsboro Track Club to learn skill technique and strategies for many of the track events through fun, age-appropriate activities. The Club is for five to fourteen year olds. The All-Comers Track Meets are a series of five meets giving club members an opportunity to compete in an organized track meet while promoting healthy competition.
