In 1988, the City received a donation of approximately 15 acres of floodplain property on Dairy Creek. Subsequently, through donation and purchase, additional parcels were added so the park now provides eighteen acres of natural area and six acres of park area.
Contruction of the park started in June 2003 and finished with a dedication celebration on May 11, 2005.
The park is developed with walking paths, basketball court, playground, softball field with soccer field overlay, artificial turf inserts on the soccer field goal areas, two parking areas, open lawn for play and picnicking, extensive landscaping and lighting in the parking and main path areas. The park has an open and inviting feel, with a variety of features set against the backdrop of woodland in the creek corridor. The park is open from dawn until dusk. |
General Park Regulations
- Use of all tobacco products is prohibited on Parks & Recreation property.
- Parks are closed from dusk to dawn.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- All fireworks are prohibited.
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
- Dogs are prohibited from playground areas.
- Dog waste must be cleaned up by dog's keeper/owner.
- Dogs are prohibited from wetlands, ponds and streams.
- Golfing activities are prohibited.
- Motorized vehicles prohibited except in parking areas.
- Vending activities are prohibited without Park Commission approval.
