COMMUNITY SERVICE FEE (Years 4-5 only)

Companies applying for the extended abatement (years 4-5) are required to pay a community service fee. This fee will be calculated at a rate of 25% of the abated taxes for years 4 and 5, and is paid by the Company to the City of Hillsboro in two annual payments due October 15th of year 4 and 5 of the abatement.  This fee, created in accordance with OAR 123-065-2700, shall be used for job creation and economic development for the City of Hillsboro.

Specific programs where these fees will be applied will be developed by the City of Hillsboro in conjunction with community partners which might include (but not limited to): Worksystems Inc., Worksource Oregon Employment Department, Portland Community College, and Hillsboro School District. The programs will be targeted to increase employment opportunities for Enterprise Zone residents by increasing education levels and job skill levels.
