Washington County Ranks High is Health Outsomes Report
April 9, 2012
Those of us who are fortunate enough to live and work in Washington County, have always known this was a healthy choice. But a new study, released this week by the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, confirms our communities are among the healthiest places to live in Oregon.
According to the Westside Economic Alliance (WEA), Washington County ranked high in a report highlighting the key findings from the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation’s 2012 check-up of more than 3000 counties in 50 states. The report comapred the health and fitness of Washington County to six neighboring counties.
Washington County ranked high among Oregon counties, in terms of “Health Outcomes,” with higher life expectancies, fewer premature deaths, fewer underweight infant deliveries, and generally better living conditions contributing to our physical and mental health. The Robert Woods Johnson Foundation evaluated a wide range of health factors, and also gave Washington County high marks for health factors relating to economic and social factors.
