Southeastern Neighborhoods Subarea Vision
Statement
Residents of the southeast area enjoy safe neighborhoods with a mix of quality housing that is affordably priced, surrounded by well-kept neighborhood parks and open spaces, sidewalks, and bicycle facilities. Numerous jobs are located nearby, and youth have a range of affordable recreational and educational opportunities close to home. Cultural diversity is celebrated through activities for all ages. High-quality, locally owned shops and restaurants along the 10th Avenue business corridor serve as an eastern gateway to the core downtown area. Southeastern Neighborhoods Subarea
Goals
- A strong sense of
community that is friendly and family-oriented.
- A safe environment for all by reducing
crime, vandalism and graffiti.
- Installation and improvement of
sidewalks, bike lanes, crosswalks, and streetlights to increase
safety.

Creation of neighborhood parks with
public plaza spaces, community gardens, and affordable youth activities
(i.e. – a skate park, soccer fields, gardening classes, etc.).
