4th and Main Redevelopment Project

The 4th and Main development site, formerly known as the Wells Fargo building - a 1960s era bank that currently sits unoccupied at the corner of SE 4th Avenue and E Main Street in Downtown Hillsboro. In 1998, the City and Metro jointly purchased the property and building in vision of utilizing the site as a transit-oriented development.

In 2010, the City and Metro released a request for qualifications (RFQ) seeking ideas for the potential redevelopment of the 4th and Main site and/or adaptive reuse of the Wells Fargo building. The City selected a proposal from Tokola Properties to jointly develop market rate rental units with an adaptive reuse of the Wells Fargo building into a natural grocery store.

The City enetred into an exclusive negotiating agreement with Tokola Properties, and the project is moving forward with graoundbreaking anticipated for Fall 2011.
