Councilor Megan Braze was elected to the City Council in 2013. She ran for Council in order to serve the community she has always called home. Megan wants to continue to promote economic development and job creation in Hillsboro while maintaining a high level of livability for residents. She is also passionate about getting young people interested and involved in their government.
Megan serves on the Transportation Committee. She is also a member of the Preschool Board at Trinity Lutheran Church, and has served as a high school youth leader and volunteer preschool Spanish instructor as well.
After growing up in Hillsboro, Megan returned following graduation from college to enjoy all that Hillsboro has to offer, including the beautiful parks and natural areas, vibrant downtown and the wide range of recreational opportunities available. She is an avid equestrian who competes in dressage with her two horses, Andy and Ludo.
Megan graduated from Hillsboro High School and has a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Oregon State University. She currently works in inside sales at Gaston Sales, Inc., a manufacturer's representative company serving the semiconductor, silicon and solar industries.
