PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

The HACC also provides matching Professional Development Scholarships that help local arts organizations and individual artists develop their skills in grant writing, board development, marketing, revenue generation, capacity building and other applicable professional development opportunities. Review the following information and submit the scholarship form no less than three weeks prior to the workshop.  Please call the Hillsboro Arts and Culture Council prior to submitting the form to verify funding availability.  All City matching funds will be reimbursed after conclusion of the workshop and proof of participation.

Requirements:
  1. Must be representing a Hillsboro non-profit arts organization or be an individual artist who resides within the City limits of Hillsboro.
  2. Provide matching funds to attend workshop.
  3. Provide brief written report/overview at conclusion of workshop and supply workshop handouts to Hillsboro Arts and Culture Council staff.
  4. Provide proof of participation and submit invoice.
City will match:
Up to $250 per arts organization and $50 per individual artist, per fiscal year (July to June).
  • Funds are limited: First come, first serve basis.
  • Workshops pertaining to the following areas: grant writing, board development, marketing, revenue development, capacity building and professional development.
  • Funds may not be used for art classes or workshops, productions, concert tickets, etc.
  • Number of applicants from a single organization is limited to five.
  • No scholarships awarded for HACC workshops unless the registration fee exceeds $200.
Invoice must include:
  1. Name, contact, and phone number of non-profit organization or individual.
  2. Name of workshop and organization hosting workshop.
  3. Date(s) of workshop.
  4. Dollar amount matched and requested.
  5. Federal Tax ID or Social Security Number.
  6. Proof of attendance: (Copy of certificate, handouts, or receipt).
