The Hillsboro Police Department’s Youth Services Unit (YSU) has been a leader in fulfilling the HPD community policing missionHPD School Resource Officers . School Resource Officers (SROs), in collaboration with the Hillsboro School District, focus on maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for all students. The SROs provide classroom instruction in law and justice awareness, personal safety and utilize the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) curriculum as drug and gang delinquency prevention tools. In addition, SROs refer cases and act as advisors to the HPD Youth Peer Court.

YSU detectives welcome you to get to know them and what is going on within the schools in our community. See the SRO Assignment Resource to send your school SRO a message, concern or question.
