 The Hillsboro Police Canine Unit serves as ambassadors to both the City of Hillsboro and the law enforcement community. The Canine Unit is quick to respond to community functions and enjoys allowing the community to take ownership of each dog team (most dogs are known by name).
The Hillsboro Police Canine Unit is assigned to the Patrol Division. All officers are responsible for general patrol activities but also provide a specialized search or locating tool for concealed suspects who are attempting to flee apprehension by police.
The Narcotics Detection team is a valuable tool in the war on drugs. The team can be requested to search vehicles, houses or containers for the presence of illegal drugs. |
