The Tanasbourne Area has a rich mix of urban housing, jobs, businesses, commerce, urban conveniences, and community amenities. Acknowledged in 2009 as one of the most successful Town Centers in the region, the Tanasbourne area was recently designated along with neighboring Amberglen as a Regional Center. Identifying a Vision for the Tanasbourne area is the first step in updating the Tanasbourne Town Center Plan from 2000. Beginning in January 2012, a diverse group of Tanasbourne area residents and employers will be engaged in focus group discussions. Along with the AmberGlen Community Plan, this Plan will articulate and describe the urban shape, form, texture and content of a Master Tanasbourne / AmberGlen Regional Center Plan.
