The City of Hillsboro has purchased financial management software from Tyler Technologies Inc. The new software, called MUNIS, will support City financial modules including: Human Resources, Utility Billing, Payroll, Business Licenses, and City Revenues. The City of Hillsboro is the first municipality in Oregon to implement MUNIS. Dallas-based Tyler Technologies Inc provides various versions of its financial management software to government, as well as private businesses and corporations. Selected because of its functionality and user-friendly interface MUNIS Revenues, Business Licenses and Purchasing go live April 1st, 2008. Payroll is scheduled to go live the following October, while Utility Billing is scheduled to be operational by January, 2009. A project team, formed specifically to implement MUNIS and provide user training to all City of Hillsboro employees, is facilitating the City's technological renovation. With MUNIS fully operational, the public will be able to interact with the system through citizen self service to pay bills online and preview account information.(More)
