Minimum Investment

The minimum investment required by the City of Hillsboro is $1 million in the North Industrial Area and $250,000 in the South Industrial Area and Central Business District in downtown Hillsboro. For investments that include real property improvements, the minimum investment must meet or exceed $75 per square foot built To maintain the high quality development in Hillsboro, $75 per square foot will ensure that similar standards of quality design and construction will continue. This calculation includes all real property (building, tenant improvements, equipment) included in the taxable assessed value. The cost per square foot built will be adjusted annually based on the most current Construction Cost Index from the Oregon Department of Transportation. This applies to both the 3 year and extended (years 4-5) exemptions.
