PROJECT PARTNERS

The City of Hillsboro is undertaking a Downtown Community Planning effort that will serve as a guide for the future of Hillsboro’s Downtown Core and the surrounding neighborhoods. This is a joint Planning Department/Economic Development project.  This project will provide an opportunity for citizens to help plan for the future of the neighborhoods in which they live, work, own property, or manage a business. The City is directly engaging citizens in the planning process in order to identify the neighborhood strengths and assets, needs and concerns, and define their desired goals for the future of their neighborhoods. The City and its consultant team led by Parametrix will carefully document and analyze this information, and then offer specific recommendations to citizens to reach their goals. The Downtown Community Plan Area has been divided into three sub-areas and assigned staff liaisons (see map below). These liaisons will lead the community outreach and gather neighborhood input. Community outreach efforts have included a satellite office in each of the subareas, public meetings, a project newsletter and bulletins, questionnaires and surveys, and stakeholder interviews.
