Call for Writing Instructors

The Walters Cultural Arts Center seeks a part-time Creative Writing instructor with experience teaching youth, teens, and/or adults for the summer/fall season. We seek candidates to teach writing workshops in any of the following genres: Fiction, Poetry, Creative Nonfiction, and Memoir. Artists Invited to Submit Artwork Capturing the Spirit of Hillsboro

The Hillsboro Arts & Culture Council is seeking submissions of two-dimensional artwork that represent the character and spirit of Hillsboro. From the submissions, the City of Hillsboro will select its first purchase for Hillsboro’s Public Art Collection. The original selected artwork will remain in Hillsboro, while limited edition archival reproductions will be presented as gifts to dignitaries visiting Hillsboro and on Mayor Jerry Willey’s official visits to other cities. Paintings, drawings, prints or photographs are eligible. Only existing two-dimensional artwork will be considered by for selection. The artwork should represent the characteristic landscape, city views or landmarks of Hillsboro. The purchase price cannot exceed $500. All artists are eligible, but Hillsboro artists are especially encouraged to apply.

Deadline for entry is Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
